1927 Ford Model T Roadster owned by Galen & Judy Rainforth

This project was built at Dynamic Rides as a tribute to a vehicle very dear to Galen’s heart. His brother had owned a 1927 Model T Roadster in the late 50’s and early 60’s that was originally constructed by Mick DeBacker of Hastings, NE. and became local legend with it’s vast racing heritage. DeBacker’s build went onto the Bonneville salt flats recording 101.1 MPH by only removal of windshield and spare tire. Once in the Rainforth family the flathead engine was balanced and set to race the local drag strips, qualifying for the nationals but never running due to plans of college and lack of funding. Fast forward to 2016, where Galen and numerous friends set out to locate the original body. They came up empty handed, leading Galen to build a tribute starting with a Cornhusker Rod and Custom 32 chassis featuring a Pete and Jakes chromed dropped axle. The body is a all steel 1927 Shadowrod roadster body that is produced with a deuce chassis in mind. Features include 2″ taller, 4″ longer and 2″ wider to accommodate creature comforts. Galen chose a SBC engine with a Tremec world class T5 trans that puts power through a Winter’s polished quick change rear. Full fenders was the only way to go here as that’s how the car saw the strip and salt flats back it’s glory days. Andy Glause of St. Libory, NE. was in charge of hand forming the hood, hood sides and aprons that made the 1932 grille shell look right in place. Stretched and widened original Henry Ford front fenders, along with rear fenders to tuck the large M/H racing tires. The Dynamic Rides team massaged every inch of the chassis, underside and body to prep it for the PPG Obsession red candy paint. Once painted. polished and assembled at Dynamic Rides, Dustin handled the wiring details and things were topped off with a 3 deuce EFI from Autotrend EFI. Interior duties were handled by Rezzerected Rodz & Kustoms of Wayne, NE.; stitching the Italian vintage antique leather on a Wise Guys bench seat and custom panels.

Galen and Judy have had a busy 2019 traveling and showing their prized possession at various shows around the country.
