With a heavy heart, we have taken on this project in memory of our dear friend Jim Stewart, to see it built to completion in his honor. Jim and Mary Ann Stewart have been our customers and friends for the better part of the last decade. Sadly, Jim passed away in January of this year, but we are still looking towards the completion of this project by the end of this summer. While having outstanding success with their 1958 Corvette project that we finished in 2015, we knew it would be only a matter of time when their desire to keep the hotrod juices flowing would bring in another cool ride. This build is true to grass roots style hot rodding with a 1932 Ford hi-boy coupe. First stop was the chassis overhaul by Daryn Swails of local Kearney fame Swails Standard. Getting things squared up properly, adding a tried and true vintage Halibrand quick change rear end, small block Chevy power train, vintage radius bars and brake upgrades to name a few. The body was then transferred to Nebraska metal fabricator Glause Metal Crafters for a hood and interior garnish molding fabrication. We received the body on it’s rolling chassis and quickly went to work gapping the doors and tidying up several areas on the body, decklid and components. Stay tuned as we roll through hours of block sanding and paint prep work to make this ride one of which we know Jim would surely approve.
